Deuteronomy – Chapter 24: Miscellaneous Laws

Now that God has taught the Israelites to dig holes to shit in, I’m not sure what else there’s left for him to do.  LOL!  Let’s find out what Deuteronomy 24 has in store for us.

“If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man, and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies, then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled.” – Deuteronomy 24:1-4

If the man is displeased with her?  Misogyny.  It’s always the woman’s fault according to the Bible.

“If someone is caught kidnapping a fellow Israelite and treating or selling them as a slave, the kidnapper must die.” – Deuteronomy 24:7

It is, however, okay to kidnap a foreigner and make him/her your slave.

“Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin.” – Deuteronomy 24:16

Excuse me?  There are MANY verses in which children are killed as a result of the parents’ ‘sin’.  God killed all firstborn male children in Egypt for crying out loud!

I’ll end this chapter here.  I can’t believe God is now saying children should not be put to death for their parents.  Are you kidding me?  After the number of children God killed as a result of the actions of the parents he now has the nerve to say this?  WOW!!!
