Judges 14 brought us the story of Samson demanding a woman to be his wife. She does, but in the end watches Samson kill a bunch of men and then gets raped by another man as a punishment. All of this is God approved. Judges 15 shows us that Samson is still pissed off and is going to take his revenge out on the Philistines.
“Later on, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. He said, ‘I’m going to my wife’s room.’ But her father would not let him go in. ‘I was so sure you hated her,’ he said, ‘that I gave her to your companion. Isn’t her younger sister more attractive? Take her instead.’” – Judges 15:1-2
The first verse makes you think Samson’s father-in-law is protecting his daughter, but not really. He gave her to another man to be raped and is now offering up his other daughter to Samson. Biblical morals. Samson gets mad and goes on a rampage.
“So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails, lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves.” – Judges 15:4-5
Um…so weird. A torch isn’t good enough. Instead Samson lights a bunch of foxes on fire. You can’t make this shit up.
“When the Philistines asked, ‘Who did this?’ they were told, ‘Samson, the Timnite’s son-in-law, because his wife was given to his companion.’ So the Philistines went up and burned her and her father to death. – Judges 15:7
Well, that’s the end of Samson’s wife. All of this has happened because Samson got mad over a riddle and God gave him the strength to destroy others. In other words, God has created a weak minded bully to do his lordly deeds. Next, Samson gets tied up.
“As he approached Lehi, the Philistines came toward him shouting. The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him. The ropes on his arms became like charred flax, and the bindings dropped from his hands. Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.” – Judges 15:14-15
ROFL! Killed a thousand men with a donkey’s jawbone? LOL! Even if there was a god and this did happen, it’s all the result of a freaking riddle!!!
“Samson led Israel for twenty years in the days of the Philistines.” – Judges 15:20
This monster leads the Israelites for 20 years and it’s considered a GOOD time for the Israelites???
Judges 15 continues the disgusting story of Samson. Because he has a weak mind he gets his wife killed. Then he goes on a rampage, with the blessing of God, killing man after man after man, up to a thousand in this chapter alone. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Biblical morals.
