After a couple of chapters in 1 Chronicles covering genealogy, it’s time to move back into Psalms, starting with Chapter 43.
“Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked.” – Psalms 43:1
Given how wicked we’ve seen the god of the Bible to be, David is unintentionally asking to be rescued from God!
“Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” – Psalms 43:5
Put my hope in the god who demands the killing of innocent babies? I don’t think so!
That does it for Psalms 43. A very short chapter in which David again praises God and asks everyone to put their hope in God. If God delivered, maybe that would be okay. But God doesn’t deliver. He kills, he murders, he takes over bodies, and he enhances suffering across the nations, including the suffering of his ‘chosen’ people.
