Today we continue in the book of Psalms by looking at Chapter 47.
“He subdued nations under us, peoples under our feet.” – Psalm 47:3
A more accurate description is “he hardened the hearts of the nations,” because that is exactly what he did and exactly how it is described in the Bible.
“God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” – Psalm 47:8
Okay, true if he exists, but he also sets the nations at war with each other. Is that the sign of a good leader?
Psalm 47 is a short chapter that tries to describe God as this wonderful being, but as with the previous chapters we’ve looked at recently, these verses contradict what we’ve previously read. You can’t cause murder and bloodshed and as be called wonderful and loving. The two don’t mix.
