Psalm – Chapter 4: For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.

Today we continue in the book of Psalms.

“Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.” – Psalm 4:4

Oh the hypocrisy from David who kills and rapes women left and right.

“Many, Lord, are asking, ‘Who will bring us prosperity?’ Let the light of your face shine on us.” – Psalm 4:6

Yes, who indeed?  Probably not the god who orders murder and does nothing to stop David from raping women.

“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4:8

Rampant death and destruction are not what I consider safety.

Much like Psalm 3, Psalm 4 is a short chapter telling us God will provide.  Okay, but what does he provide?  Not safety.  Not peace.  Not love.  He provides, hate, murder, rape, death, destruction, and war.  Don’t believe me?  Read the Bible.  It’s right there.
