We continue digging through the book of Psalms for a few more days, taking a deep look at chapter 12 today.
“Help, Lord, for no one is faithful anymore; those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.” – Psalm 12:1
Says David, who rapes and kills at will. David is sad because no one is faithful. You rape and murder and you want others to be faithful? Sigh.
“Everyone lies to their neighbor; they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.” – Psalm 12:2
I’m sorry? You rape and murder, but you’re upset that your neighbors lie. Facepalm.
“May the Lord silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue…” – Psalm 12:3
Yes Lord. Silence those who lie, but let David rape away. What the fuck?
“’Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise,’” says the Lord. ‘I will protect them from those who malign them.’” – Psalm 12:5
And poverty was solved for good…said no sane person ever.
“And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.” – Psalm 12:6
What does this say about God? Flawless, but poverty still exists. Either God is not flawless or he doesn’t exist.
“You, Lord, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.” – Psalm 12:7-8
And everyone was safe forever from the wicked, expect, wait, no they weren’t! Is God a liar or does he just not exist?
This concludes Psalm 12. Quite a bit of flattery of God that is easily refutable by opening one’s eyes and looking around. The poor are not protected by God. God does not keep us safe from evil. Therefore God does not exist.
