1 Chronicles – Chapter 21: David Counts the Fighting Men

Today’s chapter, 1 Chronicles 21, is a near repeat of 2 Samuel 24, with one very, very big difference that we’ll see right away in the first verse.

“Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to take a census of Israel.” – 1 Chronicles 21:1

WHAT THE FUCK???  Satan?!?!?  No.  This is an absolute lie and contradiction to 2 Samuel 24:1.  In the last chapter of 2 Samuel it is God who orders David to take the census.  Is this chapter saying God is Satan?  If so, that’s a huge load of disrespect toward Satan who is FAR more moral than God.

“Again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, ‘Go and take a census of Israel and Judah.’” – 2 Samuel 24:1

The rest of 1 Chronicles 21 is the same as 2 Samuel 24, but the first verse is VERY different.  Why does one chapter say God demanded the census and the other chapter states Satan demanded the census?  WOW!  What a contradiction!  You can’t have a bigger contradiction than switching God with Satan. Yikes!
