The last several chapters in Psalms have been quite short and that trend continues today with chapter 115. Granted, this chapter has a few more verses than the previous few chapters, but the content is much the same.
“Why do the nations say, ‘Where is their God’” – Psalm 115:2
Easy. There’s no evidence.
“Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.” – Psalm 115:3
Agreed. God does do whatever he pleases. He murders, rapes, and enslaves whenever it pleases him.
“You who fear him, trust in the Lord—he is their help and shield.” – Psalm 115:11
A god who loves is not a god who demands fear. A god who demands fear is not a god who loves.
There are a few other verses after this but all are about praising God because he is great. No thanks. I’ve seen the evidence in the Bible pointing out the harmful things this god does. No thanks. Even if a god existed, the god of the Bible is not one who I’ll ever worship. A god who demands your fear is no god to bow down to.
