Where the previous chapter in Psalms was very short, this one is longer, so let’s get started.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” – Psalm 118:1
Except for when God kills you.
“The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.” – Psalm 118:7
Will you still look in triumph when those enemies thrust a spear through your belly?
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.” – Psalm 118:8
For fuck’s sake? Seriously? Humans are far more trustful than a vengeful god.
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” – Psalm 118:15
Fine. I’ll give God credit for knowing how to jack off with his right hand.
“The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.” – Psalm 118:18
How loving of this god.
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” – Psalm 118:26
ROFL! You can be blessed if only you shout out the Lord’s name when in the throes of orgasmic passion!
I think I’ll end with that verse. LOL! Let me just say that I’m getting sick of Psalms, so a good sex joke is a great way to end today’s discussion on this chapter.
