Proverbs – Chapter 4: Get Wisdom at any Cost

Today’s chapter has an interesting title.  Wisdom at any cost? Really? It’s okay to kill a baby if it’s in the name of acquiring wisdom?  Hmm.

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.” – Proverbs 4:7

What…the…fuck?!?!  That’s your wisdom? Here you go, here’s some wisdom.  Get wisdom. Yes, it’s okay to roll your eyes at this!

“Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers.” – Proverbs 4:14

This is fine, but doesn’t provide wisdom.  Simply saying stay away from evil is not wisdom.  How should one stay away from evil?

This chapter is absolutely ridiculous and shares no wisdom at all.  It starts out by saying you need to get wisdom. It doesn’t say how.  It doesn’t provide any wisdom. It simply says to get wisdom and hang on to that wisdom.  This is repeated over and over, but no actual wisdom is given. Sigh. Your typical Bible chapter.  A bunch of nonsense.
