Another Proverbs chapter with ‘wisdom’ in the title. Maybe this is finally the chapter we’ll learn real wisdom? Yeah, I know, doubtful.
“To those who have no sense she says, ‘Come, eat my food and drink the wine I have mixed. Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.” – Proverbs 9:4-6
This isn’t wisdom. This is indoctrination. It takes people with the inability to think and tells them what they should think and believe.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” – Proverbs 9:10
Again, no. This is abuse. Not wisdom.
“Folly is an unruly woman; she is simple and knows nothing.” – Proverbs 9:13
Another example of misogyny. Women are the causes of all men’s problems according to this wise book Christians call the Bible.
“But little do they know that the dead are there, that her guests are deep in the realm of the dead.” – Proverbs 9:18
So, zombies? 🙂
This concludes Proverbs 9, another chapter that pretends to tell us how to be wise, but offers no insight on how to actually be wise.
