In the last chapter of Proverbs we found the Bible thinks it is wise to beat your kids. Sheesh. Well, let’s read on for more wisdom in this chapter.
“The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.” – Proverbs 14:11
If your life’s turned upside down, guess what? You were wicked!!!
“The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.” – Proverbs 14:15
Such as believing in talking snakes and donkeys and living inside a fish for three days? Hmmm.
“All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.” – Proverbs 14:23
Working three jobs to make ends meet and put food on the table for your family? Guess what? You’re not working hard enough! Instead of working 70 hours per week, put in 80 hours per week at $7.25/hr. Sheesh.
“The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death.” – Proverbs 14:27
This is just one of several verses in this chapter stating you must fear the Lord to be wise. Bullshit. It’s child abuse, not wisdom.
“A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.” – Proverbs 14:35
How dare those slaves be shameful!!!
Another chapter of supposed ‘wisdom’ that is nothing but a bunch of bullshit that places the blame on the victims. Life not going right? It can’t possibly be the random nature of life. Instead, it MUST be your fault somehow. It’s the disgusting rationale too many Christians use to justify evil in this world.
