Atheism Quotes – No Credited

Below is an Atheism quote I found on the web but is not credited.

“It’s quite easy for the usual theological excuse to be trotted out to explain the problem of evil: God works in mysterious ways.”

This general quote could have been penned by anyone with critical thinking skills and variations of it have probably been credited to many people. Christians always tell us God works in mysterious ways and we are not privy to the knowledge to understand God’s ways. So maybe, just maybe, God is so mysterious he doesn’t exist!

Ecclesiastes – Chapter 12: Untitled

Here we are, the final chapter in Ecclesiastes. Maybe this chapter will finally tell us that life is meaningful after all? Yeah, I know, doubtful.

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth…” – Ecclesiastes 12:1

No thanks. This creator has made a meaningless life according to the Bible, so why would I remember something meaningless?

“Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people.” – Ecclesiastes 12:9

Wise? No. The teacher just blabbed on for twelve chapters about how meaningless life is. That’s not wise. That’s just nonsense.

“Now all has been heard;   here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. For God will bring every deed into judgment,  including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.” – Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

All has been heard? Really? A book about the meaningless nature of life ends with a statement to fear God, listen to God, follow all of God’s commands, and be ready to be judged. WTF?

So this basically boiled down to twelve chapters of someone babbling on about how life is worthless and ending by saying these are wise words. Christians, is this really the book you worship?

Ecclesiastes – Chapter 11: Invest in Many Ventures

Ecclesiastes is almost over. Just two chapters to go and we’ll be done learning about how meaningless life is in the Bible.

“Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” – Ecclesiastes 11:2

This is actually good advice. Diversify your portfolio so if one area fails, your entire portfolio does not fail.

“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things.” – Ecclesiastes 11:5

Here’s the thing. We know how wind works and we know how a fetus develops. It’s not a mystery.

“Everything to come is meaningless.” – Ecclesiastes 11:8

This seems to include the biblical eternal life in heaven.

So there you go, more words on how meaningless life is and how meaningless everything in the future is…sigh.

Genesis 4:17

It’s Crazy Bible Verse Tuesday and I really want you to think about this verse.

“Cain made love to his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch.” – Genesis 4:17Uncte

According to the Bible, Adam and Eve were the first and only people on Earth. They gave birth to Cain and Abel. Then Cain made love to his wife. Um…there’s only one woman on Earth right now so…Cain made love to…his…mom. Yep, that’s the Bible for you! Populating the Earth through one incestual moment at a time.

Ecclesiastes – Chapter 10: Untitled

Yes, I know. Ecclesiastes is getting boring and repetitive, but it’s almost over. Three more chapters to go and we move on to a different chapter.

“As dead flies give perfume a bad smell, so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.” – Ecclesiastes 10:1

Um…yeah…that’s not what makes perfume smell bad.

“…whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake.” – Ecclesiastes 10:8

Um…what? Okay, I guess I’ll be careful of snakes when I go breaking walls?

“Do not revile the king even in your thoughts, or curse the rich in your bedroom, because a bird in the sky may carry your words, and a bird on the wing may report what you say.” – Ecclesiastes 10:20

This is the biblical way of saying ‘snitches get stitches’.

Not much else to report from this chapter. Life is still meaningless according to the Bible.

Atheism Quotes – Edward Abbey

Today’s Atheism Quote comes from author Edward Abbey.

“God is a sound people make when they’re too tired to think anymore.” – Edward Abbey

Yes! I get it. Sometimes life is tough and it seems out of control, but a make believe god isn’t the answer. I understand how it would be easier if there was a greater being to rely on but there’s no evidence to support that so we must rely on ourselves and others around us for help. Don’t stop thinking when times get hard!

Ecclesiastes – Chapter 9: A Common Destiny for All

A common destiny for all? Doubtful given God’s hateful rhetoric against so many groups of people.

“All share a common destiny—the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not.” – Ecclesiastes 9:2

Okay, we all die. In that case, yes, we all have the same destiny.

“The hearts of people, moreover, are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterward they join the dead.” – Ecclesiastes 9:3

LOL! The authors of this chapter really hate people, don’t they. YOU ARE ALL EVIL BASTARDS!!!

“Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun—all your meaningless days.” – Ecclesiastes 9:9

Unless the person you love is of the same sex, a different color, or from a different tribe. Then you and your partner can both go to hell! That is what the Bible says.

“Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man.” – Ecclesiastes 9:15

Bullshit. That never happened. If a man truly saved a city by his wisdom alone, he would be remembered. Complete bullshit.

Ecclesiastes is getting old fast. Life is meaningless. We all die. Wisdom is good, but we all die. Rich and poor, we all die. Death. Death. Death. What a drag.
