We are still working through the book of Micah, so today we learn more about Micah, the true, but lacking any supporting evidence, prophet of God.
“In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains;” – Micah 4:1
Is the highest mountain Mt. Everest, which reaches the greatest height above sea level or Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain measured from base (below sea level) to peak? God is going to want to get this one right!
“‘In that day,’ declares the Lord, ‘I will gather the lame; I will assemble the exiles and those I have brought to grief.’” – Micah 4:6
The Bible admits God caused grief in these people. But we all knew that. It started with God hardening the hearts of the Egyptians. Actually it started before that when God tossed Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden for the crime of learning.
“But they do not know the thoughts of the Lord; they do not understand his plan” – Micah 4:12
Of course they do not understand the Lord’s plan. God never shows himself! All we have are supposed prophets who speak for God, even though they have no evidence supporting their claims.
“Rise and thresh, Daughter Zion, for I will give you horns of iron; I will give you hooves of bronze, and you will break to pieces many nations.” – Micah 4:13
Fuck horns of iron and hooves of bronze. If I’m one of these people, I want food, water, shelter, and peace! What good is an iron horn and bronze hoof going to do me?
Don’t blame me. I never said this was going to be an exciting chapter! 🙂
