Today we get God’s answer to Habakkuk’s second complaint.
“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false.” – Habakkuk 2:3
“For you have shed human blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.” – Habakkuk 2:8
This is God speaking, but the words should be directed at him as God has shed human blood, destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them. God has done this.
“Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies!” – Habakkuk 2:15
“The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” – Habakkuk 2:20
Hiding in his temple is more correct. Let the Earth be silent before a silent God? No thanks.
So God offers no real answers to Habakkuk in this chapter.
