At the start of this section on Hosea, we learned that Hosea is referred to as the “prophet of doom” which was a well earned nickname as most of this book focused on all the ways God was going to destroy the Israelites. Women, children, the elderly, all were to be destroyed. At times there were comments on how God was still a loving god, but for the most part he was a god of death.
Then, in the last chapter, the fourteenth in this book, God decides that he is going to turn his anger away from the Israelites. See, God loves everyone! You just have to survive his constant wrath. Who cares if you lose a spouse or a few children in the process. God’s love is all you need! It boggles my mind how people can read the Bible and think this is a god of love! You can’t kill people, then stop and say, see, I do love you! For fuck’s sake Christians.
Finally, the last chapter in Hosea! Thus far this chapter has told us God is nothing more than a disgusting being who gets his jollies off of killing innocent people, particularly young children.
“I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them.” – Hosea 14:4
God has turned away his anger…after killing many of the Israelites. Let’s worship this killer because he says he’s sorry now!
“The ways of the Lord are right;” – Hosea 14:9
How is that possible when God does so much senseless killing?
And that concludes the book of Hosea, a worthless piece of literary trash. A book of morals? Seriously?
Coming Soon: Isaiah – Chapter 28: Woe to the Leaders of Ephraim and Judah
First God is angry at Israel, then he loves Israel, and now in this chapter he hates Israel again.
“But he became guilty of Baal worship and died.” – Hosea 13:1
It’s okay to rape women, but don’t you dare worship another god!
“But I have been the Lord your God ever since you came out of Egypt.” – Hosea 13:4
And why did the Israelites need to leave Egypt? Because God hardened the hearts of the Egyptians until they did harm against the Israelites.
“Like a bear robbed of her cubs, I will attack them and rip them open; like a lion I will devour them— a wild animal will tear them apart.” – Hosea 13:8
Don’t forget, God loves you as he allows a wild animal to tear you apart. 🙂
“So in my anger I gave you a king, and in my wrath I took him away.” – Hosea 13:11
God has an anger issue 🙂
“They will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, their pregnant women ripped open.” – Hosea 13:16
It doesn’t get worse than this. This loving god is killing babies by throwing them down to the ground and ripping open pregnant women.
What does this chapter tell us? God is disgusting. He is worthy of no one’s worship. Those who worship him willing choose to ignore how awful of a god he is.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 14: Repentance to Bring Blessing
Hosea continues with this pissy god. 🙂
“The Lord has a charge to bring against Judah; he will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.” – Hosea 12:2
God is still in a bad mood. 🙂
“But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.” – Hosea 12:6
Return to a pissy God that kills innocent people, including children? I don’t think so!
“Is Gilead wicked? Its people are worthless! Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Their altars will be like piles of stones on a plowed field.” – Hosea 12:11
God demands sacrifices, but don’t you dare do it incorrectly!
“The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet he cared for him.” – Hosea 12:13
And therein lies the problem with this god. He’s invisible. He doesn’t bring Israel up himself, he sends a prophet, showing no evidence he actually exists. Because he doesn’t.
This concludes Hosea 12. More of the same. God is mad. God is going to destroy. But God never shows himself.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 13: The Lord’s Anger Against Israel
Well this is interesting. Hosea 10 ended with God stating he was destroying Israel and now Hosea 11 is titled “God’s Love for Israel”. You can’t destroy and love at the same time!!!
“I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love.” – Hosea 11:4
Really? God says he led the Israelites with kindness, but every step of the way the Israelites suffered and many were brutally killed, including women, children, and babies. That’s not love.
“I will not carry out my fierce anger, nor will I devastate Ephraim again; For I am God, and not a man— the Holy One among you. I will not come against their cities.” – Hosea 11:9
So now God will withhold his fury and anger? After all this time? Not buying it. God has said this many times before and then he turns back to killing.
What did we learn in this chapter? God says he loves Israel and won’t harm again, but we’ve been told this over and over. God is nothing but your typical abuser.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 12: Untitled
I’m back! After a month long hiatus it is time to get back to writing on this blog. We last took a look at Hosea 9 so now we move to Hosea 10. In the previous chapter we learned God is a pissy baby killer. Yep, read the Bible. It says it right there. God is a pissy baby killer.
“Their heart is deceitful, and now they must bear their guilt.” – Hosea 10:2
God could make his wishes clear, but he doesn’t. Then he gets pissy when people don’t do what he wants. Sigh.
“Israel will be ashamed of its foreign alliances.” – Hosea 10:6
Yeah! Don’t you dare make friends with people who don’t look like you!
“When that day dawns, the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.” – Hosea 10:15
Death to everyone! Babies, children, women, and the innocent. You shall all die!
Yep, God is still definitely pissy!
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 11: God’s Love for Israel
So where are we at in the Bible? We are several chapters into Hosea and God is pissy, whiny, and to console himself he kills innocent children and babies, and continues to allow rape and sexual assault. A book of morals? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
“For you have been unfaithful to your God; you love the wages of a prostitute at every threshing floor.” – Hosea 9:1
God is still mad.
“The days of punishment are coming, the days of reckoning are at hand.” – Hosea 9:7
The days of punishment are coming? God has been punishing non-stop since Adam and Eve gained knowledge.
“Even if they rear children, I will bereave them of every one” – Hosea 9:12
God is killing more babies.
“Give them wombs that miscarry and breasts that are dry.” – Hosea 9:14
Dear conservatives: God supports abortion.
So what did we learn in this chapter? God is still pissy and God is still killing babies. Is this his way of showing his love? If so, fuck this god.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 10: Untitled
Based on the title of this chapter, Israel, after being punished, is about to “reap the whirlwinds”!
“But Israel has rejected what is good; an enemy will pursue him.” – Hosea 8:3
Are the Israelites rejecting good? They are rejecting God and God has murdered and raped, so hardly is God good.
“Ephraim has sold herself to lovers.” – Hosea 8:9
God is nothing but a jealous, angry, and abusive husband/boyfriend.
“Now he will remember their wickedness and punish their sins: They will return to Egypt.” – Hosea 8:13
Back to Egypt, let us not forget, where God forced the Egyptians to harm the Israelites by hardening the Egyptians heart.
God is still pissy. It leaves the question of how many innocent children and babies are dying at the hands of God as he punishes the Israelites.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 9: Punishment for Israel
As I read through Hosea I consider the cognitive dissonance one must have to think this is a book of morals. God is only helping those who beg for his mercy. Why are they begging for his mercy? Because God unjustly punished them! Sigh.
“They are all adulterers,” – Hosea 7:4
Yes, because the children are adulterers too. And those whore babies whoring themselves out everywhere!
“Foreigners sap his strength” – Hosea 7:9
Here is the Christian justification for xenophobia and bigotry.
“I long to redeem them but they speak about me falsely.” – Hosea 7:13
See, God really does want to help, but the people said mean things to an all-powerful and all-knowledgeable god. Sheesh.
“For this they will be ridiculed in the land of Egypt.” – Hosea 7:16
Including the children and babies.
One thing to never forget is that when God says ‘all’ he truly means all. This is specifically spelled out in many verses. Look back to the many verses on God punishing generations upon generations of descendants. All of these verses on punishment include innocent babies and children. That’s the Christian god.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 8: Israel to Reap the Whirlwind
God continues his unjust rule in Hosea. Blood, death, destruction, misery, and punishment are God’s fetishes.
“Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us;” – Hosea 6:1
At this point how stupid to you have to be to think the Lord is going to heal you?
“After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.” – Hosea 6:2
A just god would restore you immediately, not 2-3 days from now.
“As at Adam, they have broken the covenant; they were unfaithful to me there.” – Hosea 6:7
LOL! Adam was punished for trying to obtain knowledge and now God is punishing the Israelites for lacking knowledge.
Coming Soon: Hosea – Chapter 7: Untitled
