I’ve decided to post book reviews of books as I finish them, even if those books are not directly related to Atheism. I recently finished reading To Save the Sun by Ben Bova and A.J. Austin. Bova is an Atheist, and there’s a bit of religious discussion in the book, but not much. I’m a big science fiction and fantasy fan and this book is a classic science fiction book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Without giving too much away, this book contains Earth, other worlds, space ships, cryosleep, conflict, deception, aliens, and a bit of a love story. Oh yeah, and they have to save the Sun! 🙂 Saving the Sun is not something that can be accomplished in a week, but Bova and Austin do a great job extending the story over multiple generations without confusing the reader with too many story lines.
There’s a bit of a cliffhanger at the end at there is a sequel titled To Fear the Light, which I have not ready yet, but this book could have easily been a stand-alone story.
Overall I loved this book and give it a 5 out of 5 stars. If you’re a science fiction, you can’t go wrong with To Save the Sun by Ben Bova and A.J. Austin.
