2 Peter 2:16

It’s Crazy Bible Verse Tuesday!  Two weeks ago we took a look at a talking snake.  Last week we took a look at a talking donkey.  This week we look at the same talking donkey, but now discussed in the New Testament..  LOL!

“But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey—an animal without speech—who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.” – 2 Peter 2:16

In case you thought talking animals are mentioned only in the Old Testament, here’s a talking donkey discussed in the New Testament.  A talking donkey!!!  Sorry, but as I said last week, donkeys cannot talk.  It is physically impossible for donkeys to speak.

If someone today told you his/her donkey spoke real words, you’d call them crazy and demand evidence.  Not the case with the bible.  No evidence needed.  If it’s written down in the bible, it must be the word of God.  We are told we MUST believe in it.  Nope.  Not me.  I live in a world of logic, reason, and reality.  I love the world I live in and I will never give it up for the absurd evidence-lacking world of talking animals in the bible.

Update:  I made a mistake in the original posting of this.  I stated this was a second talking donkey in the Bible.  It’s not.  It’s referring to the talking donkey in the Old Testament.  I’ve updated the text above to reflect this.  My apologies.
